PUSH / PULL was an installation/performance collaboration with Patricia Brace (choreography/performance) at Public Address in Brooklyn, NY.
The installation utilized faux gallery walls (secured on a pulley-and-weight system) transformed into a kinetic structure that rejected its very purpose; if touched, they swayed and threatened collapse. Similarly precarious panels covered in powdered charcoal hid notes behind them; when flipped forward, they “played.” In three cumulative performances, Brace mastered the instrument.
