A nearly untouched, crackled field of dust and rock, the PLAYA was an almost-dried-up saltwater basin in Oregon’s High Desert. With visibility severely cut off due to the preponderance of wildfire smoke, the PLAYA both rejected foreigners and – with its hot pink sunrise and blood orange moon – called to them for help.
