Tofte Lake: Pod
Porosity and interconnection: Four identical, suspended walls form a wavering cube. Each contains five acetate layers with gestural brushstrokes and vinyl that abstract clouds, horizon, lake, trees, and sunset. Viewers' reflections are drawn in and out like breath. Lighting and projections cast colored reflections/shadows. Faint, twangy music plays. Inside, visitors experience a representation of equalization, with matter flowing seemingly freely through body, air, and landscape.
Pods are concise, portable installations that invite one guest at a time to experience what it would feel like to join the conversation at a given site.
